Welcome to year 4. For September 2020, we have two year 4 classes, Lime and Hazel.
We are looking forward to another packed and exciting term in Lime. To keep up to date with what’s happening in school, you can visit our Twitter account and use the tags #LimeUHPS and #HazelUHPS.
Top tips for Year 4
SEESAW: During the current ‘Lockdown’ where many children are working from home, Seesaw is the platform we will use for most work. There will be at least 3 hours worth of work set each day to completed.
PE: Children should come in to school in kit on the relevant day (Hazel – Wednesday and Lime – Thursday). Kit should be black shorts/track suit bottoms and a white t-shirt. If it’s cold, children should wear their school jumper.
Reading: The children should be changing their own books whenever they finish one, on any day necessary. Reading records need to be handed in on Monday to be checked. The children need their reading books and records in their bags every day to allow them to read with an adult whenever possible. Children are able to use the school library once a week during lunchtimes.
Time Table Rock Stars: Please encourage your child to log onto Times Table Rock Stars to help them learn their times tables.
Home Learning: The expectation is that children complete one task per week which will be set on Seesaw as well as reading and times tables work.
Snack and water bottles: Please remember that your child will need a bottle of water to have in class and either a healthy snack from home or money for snack at break time.
Lunch: Please discuss the lunch choices for the week so that your child is able to decide what they wish to have. Don’t forget to credit your ParentPay accounts to ensure that there is enough credit.
Belongings: Please make sure that all of your child’s belongings (especially jumpers and cardigans) are clearly labelled.
Thank you, from the Year 4 team.
