Year 4

Welcome to Year 4 where we have two classes, Lime and Hazel.

In Hazel, Mr Wyllor is the class teacher and he is supported by Miss Stocking and Mrs Piercey in the mornings, and Mrs Will in the afternoon. In Lime, Mrs Massey and Mrs Mistry are the teachers and they are supported by Mrs Pilgrim in the mornings and Mrs Piercey in the afternoons. Mrs Glover is also part of our team, supporting Year 3 and 4 through interventions and PPA cover.

We are looking forward to another packed and exciting term in Lime. To keep up to date with what’s happening in school, you can visit our Twitter account and use the tags #LimeUHPS and #HazelUHPS.

Top tips for Year 4

PE: Children should come in to school in kit on Mondays and Fridays. Kit should be black shorts/track suit bottoms and a white t-shirt. If it’s cold, children should wear their school jumper. During Summer, the children will also be taking part in swimming lessons (P.E. kit lists will be provided closer to the time).

Reading:  The children should be changing their own books whenever they finish one, on any day necessary. Reading records need to be handed in on Friday to be checked. The children need their reading books and records in their bags every day to allow them to read with an adult whenever possible. Children are able to use the school library once a week during lunchtimes.

Time Table Rock Stars: Please encourage your child to log onto Times Table Rock Stars to help them learn their times tables.

Home Learning:  The expectation is that children complete one task per week which will be set on Seesaw as well as reading and times tables work.

Snack and water bottles: Please remember that your child will need a bottle of water to have in class and may choose to bring a healthy snack from home such as fruit or vegetables, bread sticks, popcorn etc rather than crisps, chocolate or breakfast bars.

Lunch: Please discuss the lunch choices for the week so that your child is able to decide what they wish to have. Don’t forget to credit your ParentPay accounts to ensure that there is enough credit.

Belongings: Please make sure that all of your child’s belongings (especially jumpers and cardigans) are clearly labelled.

Thank you, from the Year 4 team.
