Pupil Premium
The pupil premium grant is funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in state-funded schools in England.
The grant also provides support for children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces, referred to as service pupil premium (SPP).
At Upton Heath, the Pupil Premium Grant funds services include a school-based learning mentor, ELSA Session and programmes such as the Zones of Regulation. Funds are also used to provide high-quality training and professional development for teaching staff.
Pupil premium grants are designed to improve the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
