Rights Respecting School Award
Upton Heath C of E Primary School are proud to be a silver level UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School after assessment by UNICEF.
Helping us to achieve this award has been a steering group of Upton Heath pupils, made up of children from each year group. They have led collective worship in school, and developed a Rights Respecting Charter. Our pupils were also involved in OutRight, a campaign by children for children to help them promote and protect children’s rights around the world.
This campaign included a visit from Paddington Bear, a cake sale and our pupils writing letters to our local MP to ask that the government do more to help refugee children.
The principles of UK Rights Respecting School award align with our principles as a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheshire.
