Spring Term

We will be reading the text ' The Journey Home' by Emma Levey. This is our 'Pathways to Write' focused text for this half term.

We will be enjoying learning about growth, change and life cycles. Awe and Wonder! We will be having a special delivery of some little eggs - what will be inside them? We will nurture and observe the eggs until they hatch. We will then care for our hatchlings.  To support our learning in school, we will be going on an educational visit to Park Hall Farm.

We will be continuing to follow the 'White Rose' scheme of work.  Addition, subtraction and 3D shape will be what we are concentrating on.

Math's week - How Many Legs by Kes Gray

We will be estimating the number of legs that could be at the party and will be recording our predictions.  We will use mathematical language related to addition and will be recording in our own ways.

Celebrations - We will be learning about how families around the world celebrate Shrove Tuesday, Mothering Sunday and Easter.  Cookery and art will form part of these activities.

World Book Day is going to be celebrated on Thursday 7th March.  Children will be bringing in their favourite books and sharing them with their buddies.

Forest School - Forest School is continuing to be a highlight in the children's week.   They will listen to stories and take part in games that involve learning how to take turns, work as part of a team and solve problems.  The children will continue to be able to explore their natural surroundings, observe nature first hand and manage their own safety and risks. They will also have their first opportunity to sit around a fire!

Technology - How to keep safe online continues to be our bedrock when teaching Technology.  The children will explore beebots, cameras, remote controlled toys, iPads and other resources.

Please ensure that your child brings their bookbag into school with them everyday containing their reading record and reading book.

Please use the learning log to help you support your child at home and to be made aware of any little extras.

We encourage you to send a named water bottle in daily so that the children can have a drink throughout the day. We also have a variety of different fruits available every day for snack, however if you would like to send your child in with a piece of  their favourite fruit please do so. Milk is available  every morning for those children who are aged 4.

We continue to look forward to working together as a home school partnership to ensure the best possible outcomes for your children.
